The American Red Cross has announced that it is conducting an emergency blood drive in response to the tremendous need for blood as a result of the terrorist attacks on the United States.

The Department Commander has asked that all Legionnaires, who are qualified to donate blood, please do so at the earliest opportunity. Our fellow Americans injured in this horrific and cowardly attack need our help. Let us help by making sure the nation's blood supply is adequate to meet the need.

Please donate on behalf of The American Legion so our communities will be aware of our effort.

All you have to do is get those at the Blood Center to report if they are a member of the Legion, S.A.L. or the Auxiliary. I am extending the dates because of the great turn out because of 9/11. If you can get your totals to me I will post them on the web page.
